Magna Regional Park is a 63-acre regional destination for Salt Lake County, developed in partnership with Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation. G Brown Design developed the master plan for the park and provided detailed design through construction period services for Phase One, which brought nearly 30 acres of the park to life.

A key component of Phase One is the destination playground and splashpad, designed with an emphasis on inclusive and adaptive play. G Brown Design partnered with Utah State University professor and inclusive play expert Keith Christensen to create a play experience for children across the developmental continuum, incorporating collaborative, sensory, and unstructured play. The site’s natural slope became an asset, with terraces, ramps, and a “slide hill” providing physical access throughout the play areas, while platforms and gathering decks encourage social interaction.
The Oval Plaza provides a quieter gathering space between the playground and sports fields, featuring a selfie station, chess table, cornhole, seat walls, and a custom steel sculpture referencing Magna’s industrial and mining heritage.
